First and foremost we are incredibly stoked to be welcoming Indy Deavoll to the VIRIS NZ team. But first a yarn.
A big part of building VIRIS BRAND in New Zealand has been to make the industry a better place. So far, we have some pretty cool mates believe in us to back them do what they do best on a bike. We are incredibly grateful to be a small part of the journey for Ellie Hulsebosch stepping up to kill it on the world cup stage with The Union, Finn HB go from World Cup hustler to free racer style cat, Angus Ferguson chasing the van life world cup dream and Dan Franks kicking ass on the 20 inch. Along with setting up Envision Racing to assist in developing pathways for the net generation of downhill talent.
We cheers to all kiwi riders in appreciation of the those that are willing to empty their pockets (and their parents) to chase a mountain bike dream without knowing just where they might end up. With that being said we are proud to introduce you the next legend joining the crew who will be representing VIRIS across New Zealand.

VIRIS: We are you from and where do you live?
Indy: I am from Queenstown and have lived here my whole life.
VIRIS: How did you get into mountain biking?
Indy: I only got into mountain biking a few years ago. Up until then I was busy with snowboarding, skateboarding, surfing and Jiu Jitsu. My younger brothers and I were convinced to try mountain biking from a friend and we quickly realised how lucky we were to live in Queenstown with all these trails in our backyard. I ended up in hospital after my first day up Skyline but somehow this didn’t put me off and I was hooked.
VIRIS: Favourite spot to ride?
Indy: Skyline Queenstown and Whistler!
VIRIS: What bikes are you currently riding?
Indy: I am riding a Yeti SB165 converted into a DH, and a Yeti SB160 for enduro.
VIRIS: Who is your favourite rider?
Indy: Louise Ferguson is a big inspiration to me. She’s such a nice person and super fast too! My first DH bike was her old Nukeproof.
VIRIS: Post ride go to treat?
Indy: Ice cream, or hot chips from the skyline cafe.
VIRIS: Pump up riding tune?
Indy: Anything from Green Day.
VIRIS: What's your plans for the New Zealand summer of racing?
Indy: I’m going to race all the main NZ DH races including DH series, nationals and Crankworx. Now that I have a nice enduro bike for the first time I’m also going to try a few enduro races too such as the Otepoti enduro and Cable Bay nationals.
VIRIS: Where would you like to go in the future with mountain biking?
Indy: I want to race in Europe and North America! It’s my first year as a junior in 2025 so I at least want to do the Crankworx series, some IXS races, and hopefully World Champs. I’d love to race some World Cups and the US Open one day as well. I want to inspire more girls to mountain bike!
You're a legend Indy!
